Age Limits

Minimum ages apply for the various races during the Eindhoven Marathon:

 

Marathon:18 years old 
DELA Relay Marathon:16 years old 
ED Half Marathon:16 years old 
6 km IAK City Run:6 years old  
Korein Kinderplein Mini Marathon (3 km):6 years old

Benelux Championship

Male and female Eindhoven Marathon runners from the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg automatically qualify for the Benelux championship. Click here for more information.

Categories

Runners are assigned to categories based on their age on the day of the event. This only applies for the marathon and the half marathon. The following categories apply for the Eindhoven Marathon:

 

Men: 34 years old and younger: M35, M40, M45, M50, M55, M60, M65, M70 
Women: 34 years old and younger: V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70 

 

ChampionChip

The ChampionChip, a chip that you attach to the shoelaces of your running shoes, is used to register the times in the marathon, relay marathon and half marathon. If you do not have your own chip, you can rent one from the organisation (€ 2.50). If you would like to buy a chip, click here .

 

PLEASE NOTE:

If you register during the Runners' Expo, a rented chip is mandatory. You CANNOT use your own chip if you choose this registration method!

 

The rented chip must be handed in directly after the finish in the runner services area.

Participants in the 6 km IAK City Run who register on or before 15 September (24:00 hours) can choose between time registration with or without a chip. You can indicate your preference on the registration form.

 

Changing Rooms

Participants can change and shower in the Student Sports Centre at TU/e. A free shuttle bus service will be offered from the Student Sports Centre to Neckerspoel bus station behind Eindhoven CS railway station.

Changing facilities and storage (only until 18.00 hours) will be available in the car park under Stadhuisplein square and in the Runners' Expo (finish). There are no shower facilities at these locations.

Date

The 27th edition of Eindhoven Marathon will take place on 10 October 2010.

 

Drink and Sponge Stations

Refreshment stations will be set up at various locations along the course. These consist of drink and sponge stations. Click here for an overview of all the drink and sponge stations.

Sports drinks and water are offered at the drink stations.  (Isostar - lemon - isotoon)

Participants in the marathon are permitted to place their personal drink containers at the drink stations. The drink containers must be handed in during the opening hours of the Runners' Expo in the Beursgebouw. This is possible on Sunday up to 9.30 hours. The drink container must be marked with the starting number and the drink station name/number.

After the event has ended, runners are offered the opportunity of having a massage in the Student Sports Centre.

Late Registration

You can register after 15 September during the Runnersbeurs (Runners' Expo) in the Beursgebouw . Late registration is possible on Friday 8 October between 14.00 and 21.00 hours, on Saturday 9 October between 10.00 and 18.00 hours and on Sunday 10 October from 8.30 hours to no later than one hour before the start of the race in question.

 

Lunch Run

A Lunch Run will be held through the centre of Eindhoven on Saturday 9 October. The Lunch Run is an ideal opportunity to loosen up for the big race on the next day against a convivial backdrop of busy shoppers and the attractive city centre of Eindhoven. The run is approximately 5 kilometres in length and ends with a lunch.

Medical Passport

Please make sure that you fill in the medical passport information on the rear of the starting number. The starting number with your medical passport details should be worn on your chest.

Participation Certificate

All the participants who have registered online will receive a participation certificate by post a number of weeks before the event. You can also use this participation certificate to collect your starter package during the Runners' Expo.

 

Photos

Participants will be photographed by First Foto Factory during the event. You can view your photo via the results lists on our web site. You can also use this link (First Foto Factory).

 

Parking

Parking facilities have been arranged in the grounds of the TU/e. This is free of charge on Sunday 10 October 2010. A free shuttle bus service to the railway station will also be offered. Click here for Google Maps information on all the parking facilities in Eindhoven.

Registration closes on 15 September at 24:00 hours. Late registration ends one hour at the latest prior to the start of the race in question on Sunday 10 October.

 

Participants who register after 15 September are automatically allocated to the rearmost starting section. The rented chip is mandatory in the case of late registration!

 

You will receive a participation certificate by mail on or after 28 September. You can use this certificate to pick up your starting number on Friday 8, Saturday 9 or Sunday 10 October during the Runnersbeurs (Runners' Expo) in the Beursgebouw in Eindhoven.

Souvenir

Every participant will receive a medal directly after the finish as a souvenir of the event.

 

Starting Numbers

Your starting number is strictly personal and non-transferable. If you have any questions about your starting number, please send an email to ....

The starting number must be worn in a prominent, visible position on your chest. Runners participating in the full marathon are required to wear their starting numbers on their chest and back.

Starting numbers for all distances can be picked up from Friday 8 October to Sunday 10 October during the Runnersbeurs (Runners' Expo).

A starting number will only be issued if you can present your participation certificate.

  • Saturday 10 October from 10.00 - 18.00 hours
  • Sunday 11 October from 8.30 - 14.00 hours

 

Starting Lines

The starting line for the Marathon (including the DELA Relay Marathon), the ED Half Marathon (including De Lage Landen Business Run) and the Korein Kinderplein 3 km MiniMarathon is at the light line on Emmasingel.

The starting line for the 6 km IAK City Run is on Willemstraat.

Starting Sections

Starting sections based on the running time are used for the start of the marathon and half marathon. When registering, you must indicate your personal best or expected finishing time. The exact allocation to the starting sections is published no later than 2 weeks before the marathon.

Participants who register after 15 September are automatically allocated to the rearmost starting section.

Time Clocks

There are time clocks at 1, 2, 3 km and at all 5 km points, as well as at the finish. The km points are indicated by signs at the side of the road.

 

Time limits

A time limit of 5 hours has been set for the marathon. Participants who are unable to complete the first circuit within 2.5 hours will be removed from the race by the jury.

A time limit of 3 hours has been set for the half marathon.

Toilet Facilities

Toilet facilities are present in the changing areas, at the start, at the finish and at strategic points along the course.

 

Travel

We advise everybody to come to Eindhoven using public transport. We will post traffic management information on our web site a few weeks before the event. For the most up-to-date information including road closures in Eindhoven, please call +31 (0)40-2382595.

 

T-Shirt

Participants can order a commemorative T-shirt when they register. The shirts are available for both men and women. These engineered running shirts from Brooks cost € 16 each. A T-shirt is included in the participation price for participants in the De Lage Landen Business Run and the DELA Relay Marathon.
